I don't really buy all of this. Even if the brush or trees are particularly flammable, there are techniques such as fire breaks, controlled burns, and removal of debris that reduces the risk of wild fires.

Although I do agree with his point that some places should not have houses. But the complete lack of preparation and maintenance by the government is edging into criminal neglect at this point.
